Belnet’s anti-DDoS solution, Advanced DDoS Security, received two major upgrades recently: a user portal and additional protection against specific application-layer (L7) attacks, notably HTTPS and DNS random query attacks.
Globally, DNS Water Torture and WebDDoS (HTTPS flood) attacks are clearly on the rise. We have also seen more of these attacks recently within the Belnet environment. While our anti-DDoS service previously provided protection mainly at OSI layers 3 and 4, our new infrastructure now enables us to mitigate these L7 attacks as well, on a best-effort basis. This is because such attacks often generate traffic volumes that are too low to be automatically detected by our solution. If a customer notices this type of attack, Belnet can still mitigate it by manually analyzing and filtering the traffic.
In addition, the service was already expanded last summer with a dashboard that provides a real-time overview of DDoS attacks on your network, along with Netflow insights into your traffic.
With these enhancements, Belnet continues to evolve its solution in line with the latest trends and threats.
