In 2025, total traffic on our backbone continued to grow, reflecting the ever-increasing use of our infrastructure.
Belnet has maintained a high level of network stability, ensuring reliable internet connectivity that enables our institutions to operate within a high-performance IT environment. This robustness provides a vital foundation for the development of innovative services tailored to the needs of our communities.
Furthermore, the modernisation of the BNIX platform has been successfully completed. This enables us to expand our geographical reach more easily, increase port density and meet our customers’ specific needs. And all this whilst consuming just a third of the energy compared with the old platform.
Throughout the year, Belnet also continued the migration of WAN lines and made further progress towards providing comprehensive support for WAN connectivity across all federal public services.
This development enables economies of scale to be realised, particularly through the synergies that have been established, whilst simplifying the day-to-day management of connectivity for the federal public services.
