Point-to-Point Ethernet and Multipoint

Thanks to the interconnectivity service, affiliated customers can opt for a virtual private leased line or a virtual private network over the Belnet network. Affiliated organisations can interconnect several sites. In addition, an affiliated institution is also able to interconnect geographically dispersed sites within the organisation.
 
With Point-to-Point Ethernet service, two geographically dispersed sites can be connected. The Multipoint service interconnects three or more separate sites.

The standard Point-to-Point Ethernet and Multipoint connections offered by Belnet offers multiple benefits:

  • Completely protected
    The Point-to-Point Ethernet connection is completely protected and acts as a virtual private leased line on the Belnet network. The implementation of a Multipoint connection provides a virtual private network (VPN).

Extra services

  • Media Transport service
    This service guarantees prioritised bandwidth of 10 Mbit/s for media traffic.
  • International Lightpath
    This service allows you to connect with an international organisation. Your local Point-to-Point within Belgium is expanded with an international connection. This in turn is connected with the local national research network (NREN) abroad.
  • Packed 10 Gbit/s Point-to-Point
    Belnet allows multiple 1 Gbit/s lightpaths together into a unique shielded connection between 2 Belnet PoPs. This service is the ideal way to reduce your costs for projects with multiple independent connections (maximum 10).
