Point-to-Point Ethernet and Multipoint
Thanks to the interconnectivity service, affiliated customers can opt for a virtual private leased line or a virtual private network over the Belnet network. Affiliated organisations can interconnect several sites. In addition, an affiliated institution is also able to interconnect geographically dispersed sites within the organisation.
With Point-to-Point Ethernet service, two geographically dispersed sites can be connected. The Multipoint service interconnects three or more separate sites.
The standard Point-to-Point Ethernet and Multipoint connections offered by Belnet offers multiple benefits:
Belnet provides optimal availability of the service by implementing the connection redundantly on the Belnet network..
Linking local, geographically dispersed sites.
Several sites can be interconnected at low cost. Interconnection occurs over the Belnet network, thus independently of the Internet. You no longer need to invest in expensive ‘dedicated’ leased lines offered by other telecommunication operators.
The interconnectivity service can transport huge amounts of data flows without any problems.
The Point-to-Point Ethernet connection is completely protected and acts as a virtual private leased line on the Belnet network. The implementation of a Multipoint connection provides a virtual private network (VPN).
Media Transport service
This service guarantees prioritised bandwidth of 10 Mbit/s for media traffic.
This service allows you to connect with an international organisation. Your local Point-to-Point within Belgium is expanded with an international connection. This in turn is connected with the local national research network (NREN) abroad.
Packed 10 Gbit/s Point-to-Point
Belnet allows multiple 1 Gbit/s lightpaths together into a unique shielded connection between 2 Belnet PoPs. This service is the ideal way to reduce your costs for projects with multiple independent connections (maximum 10).
Belnet will propose the best solution, depending on the technical specifications requested by the customer.
